Conference and training centre – permaculture school
The conference and training center is still under construction. A permaculture school for Kenya and East Africa is being built here.
In the building 80 people will be able to attend conferences and there will be 60 overnight accommodations. There will also be space for workshops and other groups.
The center will be renewable and self-sufficient. Power will be supplied by photovoltaic and biogas.
The water management concept says, rain water will be collect. Water will be used twice, as far as possible. The first use is for showering or washing hands, for example. The second use is for flushing toilets. In a constructed wetland, the nutrients are used for fast-growing non-food plants. Grass could be grown to cover the huts or bamboo.
