Water Crises in Mitume township
The combination of a dry climate and a rapidly growing population has caused a water crisis in Kenya’s townships, where citizens in poverty live in informal settlements without water infrastructure.
Without connections to a water source, residents of the Mitume Tuwan township often trek long distances to provide water for their families.
This chore falls mostly on women and girls, which worsens gender inequalities in the area. Thanks to our water project that is providing communities in biddi with clean drinking water for free, we wish to do more in Mitume township regarding provisions of clean drinking water, any support is much appreciated.
